The 2014 Dynamic Systems and Control (DSC) Conference will be held Wednesday through Friday, October 22–24, at the Marriott Plaza Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. On behalf of the DSCC 2014 Operating Committee and the Dynamic Systems and Control Division (DSCD) of ASME International, we cordially invite you to enjoy an exciting technical program and a unique opportunity to network against the beautiful and friendly backdrop of historic San Antonio.

The conference hotel is uniquely situated on 6.5 acres in the heart of Downtown San Antonio. It is conveniently located just 2 blocks from the celebrated and renowned River Walk. An eclectic cluster of shops, restaurants, galleries and boutiques are all within walking distance with many options for strolling, sightseeing, dining, music, and nightlife. Attendees will appreciate the serene and relaxing atmosphere amid its lush, natural Texas landscape, sparkling fountains and charming, historic buildings. Amongst the breathtaking scenery dwell peacocks and Chinese pheasants. The Marriott Plaza San Antonio features three historic buildings that date back to the 18th century and are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The DSC Conference is the showcase technical forum of the DSCD. It provides a focused and intimate setting for dissemination and discussion of the state of the art in dynamic systems and control research, with a mechanical engineering flavor. The 2014 DSC Conference technical program will cover the modeling, simulation, analysis, design, and control of dynamical systems. Topics will include control theory, industrial applications, and innovations in dynamical systems and control education. Technical themes for the conference—including advanced manufacturing, renewable and traditional energy, bioengineering and biomedical engineering, and cybersecurity for critical infrastructure—will be featured in special tracks. The program will include contributed sessions, invited sessions, tutorial sessions, special sessions, workshops, and exhibits.

Proceedings containing all accepted papers will be distributed to attendees on CD, and will be published through the ASME Digital Collection and indexed in Ei Compendex.

We look forward to seeing you in San Antonio!
